Ian's view on Labs
No longer does being a $44B established company matter, in fact, it has become a liability. For over a century Amex has reinvented itself many times over. However, technology has increased the speed of reinvention, changes are no longer evolutionary they are revolutionary. Labs takes on the challenge to grow Amex into new areas with new offerings. Working on some of American Express's biggest digital bets is empowering especially with Amex's customer base, brand, and scale in play.
